I had hoped by this point… My blog title would read: “Skinny and staying that way”.. or “Formerly overweight and loving it” or “Don’t hate me because, I’m thin” or … ya catch my drift.
The reality is, it’s been five months and I’ve GAIN weight. GAIN. Another reality is, it’s noone’s fault but my own. There, I said it. I’ve been lazy, unproductive, not very active, etc, etc. It’s funny what a month or so off a diet and exercise regimen can affect your progress. Ok - it’s not really funny, but a huge slap in the face.
As I embark on my weight loss journey AGAIN, I want to say I’ll be, more confident in my ability, but who knows. Let’s hope, I’ve learned my lesson. I need some positive vibes this way, por favor…
Today’s workout:
Started with PhitNPhat workout Week 3.
Current weight is 189 lbs
Waist: TBD
Arm: TBD
Legs: TBD
TBD because I’m at work..

Sorry, I haven’t blogged in over a MONTH. What the hell is wrong with me? Just keeping busy ya know. I haven’t lost any weight, in fact, I’ve GAIN… Oh dear, but I’m ok with it, no, seriously I’m OK with it. Its what one should expect when she eats like a pig and doesn’t workout.
I fell off the weight loss wagon and am scrambling to get back on.
Where have I been? Ya, know.. I’ve been busy doing other things:
1) Falling in love
2) Falling out of love
3) Reminscing with high-school buddies
4) Connecting with people offline
5) Rejuvenating friendships, I’ve allowed to go south
6) Entertaining a move overseas to teach ESL
Anyhoo, I am back for now. My 30th birthday is in four months and I must look FABULOUS. OKAAAAAAY!! **Snaps finger in the air**
On a side note * I signed up for Gyminee, if anyone’s interested*
Also, if you wanted to know what I’ve been up to lately, you can follow me on my Twitter.

I injured my foot Saturday… but I’m all better now. I think I lightly sprained it -if that’s at all possible. I planned to not work out at this week because my ailment, however, my foot felt all better when I put on my heels for work. Weird, huh… Well, I’m into my fourth week of PNP and pushing along. I’ll have to admit that I haven’t been so diligent with the cardio portion, but I have been more active. I’ve been taking Rocco on longer walks, 30 minutes in the morning and evenings and I figure every little bit counts right. And I’m losing weight and feeling thinner but just not as drastically as others, but I need to quit comparing myself. That’s a work in progress.
In other news, I’ve decided that tomorrow will be the day. The day that I quit smoking. Wish me luck, I don’t expect it to be easy as I have a very stressful job. I figure if I need a smoke at work, I’ll just go for a quick walk. Mind over matter.

… I wore a pair of slacks to work today that I usually wear once a week. As I was pulling them up, I thought, man I have a lot of room. Hmmm. Are they stretched out from the last time I wore them, nope I realized I washed them on Monday… They were loose because I’m getting smaller in my leg regions. YAY!!! The tummy area is still a little tight, but my muffin top isn’t as noticeable as it once was. Yay, again!

Started week 2 of the 12 Fat Blasting Program.
On Monday, I did the strength training routine, I need to up my weights.
Today at lunch, I completed a 20-min intermediate HIIT routine. I just have to say, I love the feeling I get after I complete an HIIT, I love me some endorphins.
I’m sure by now you’ve heard of the new weight loss drug Alli and the awful side-effects it causes especially the one about anal-leakage. Now, I’m curious, have you been witness to someone purchasing Alli? Well, I was in CVS the other day and the dude right in front of my bought some and all I kept thinking about was manpons. Thanks Big Black!

I might have mentioned this before, but I lost about 30 pounds once. About five years ago, after a nasty break-up I threw myself into exercising and dieting and using diet supplements (read: diet pills). And man, the weight melted off, mainly, because the supplements suppressed my appetite and gave me enormous amount of energy to push through a two-hour workout. The one side-effect I had were these extreme migraine-like headaches which I dealt with because the other side-effect was the extreme weight loss. Of course when I stopped taking the pills and the weight crept back on. Now on my journey to a healthier lifestyle, I’ve decided to do it the old-fashioned way. It’s taking much longer, but I’m ok with it.
I reveal this because I had an epiphany of some sorts the other day. Being the person I that I am, instant gratification is the name of the game. If I work my butt off for the entire week, I want the scale to confirm my hours of working out and sweating and stinky feet and if it doesn’t I’m cursing everyone in site, including my doggie (poor Rocco). Afterwards, I transition into the FCK IT mode. And basically blow the diet and exercise for the weekend. Then I came across this blog, Katie wrote “Don’t put a time limit on your weight loss — that is a recipe for failure. My motto is, “Every day that I do this, I’m better off than the day before.” How true is this? I may not lose weight every week. But every day, I stick to eating healthy foods and working out, I am a better, healthier person. How about that for instant gratification? They should get T-shirts made, seriously.
On to other’s stuff: I started Corinne’s workouts this week and man ol’ man I am one sore hussy. She has some really great routines. If you’re up for something different especially in the cardio arena check her out.
Also, check out Chaotic’s Blog and Robin’s Ode to Billy.
Have a great weekend, Yall!

I tried my first HIIT workout* today. Man ol’ man. I could only do 20 minutes of it before I began to gasp for air and repent for my sins. No joke. My routine was:
5 minutes warm-up
1 minute of 14-level resistances going as fast I could.
30 seconds at the 2 resistance level
Repeat for 20 minutes.
5 minute cool down
I don’t know if it works, but it is first time my t-shirt was drenched after a workout on the ellipitical. I mean soaking-wet. I’ll stick with it as my lunch time workout for about a month, because its quick and effective (hopefully).
*Spinning is a HIIT workout as well and since I take a class at least twice a week, technically it isn’t my first HIIT workout.
HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training

I attend my first hip-hop aerobics class this morning. It was different and entertaining. I tried the moves, however I wasn’t moving quite like the instructor. I put my own spin on it and looked like a damn fool. Regardless, I was on beat and hit the moves when it counted.
Hip-hop aerobics is fun! I may go again next week. I wonder tho, if people attending the class are going because it’s a different type of workout or going to learn new moves to try out at the club. If you fall in the latter category, I feel like I must warn you. Please DO NOT take what you learn from the class and attempt the routine in public, at a bar, in a club, or at a wedding, EVER. Because if I’m there you will get talked about. I say this because there were a few suspicious people in class moving and gyrating in class in between breaks and unfortunately off rhythm. Hip-hop aerobics is an exercise class, and any fool performing the dances while not in class or in the privacy of your home or during half-time of a Mavericks game assuming you’re a Mavs Dancer or a rap video, is dumb.
To me its like taking Tae-bo for a self-defense class.
Now excuse me while I take a sip of my haterade.

I had a really good time last night. My friend was such the gentleman, opening doors for me, pulling out my chair, and PAYING for dinner. My issue with my weight came to mind only a couple time during the evening, the couple times i had to pull my size 12 jeans back up because they are too loose! Hello! We have plans for a second date, but it may be a while since he lives 1000 miles from me.
Oh, and I got hit on my another handsome fella this morning while walking into work. My game is tight, yo!
I’m going to happy hour tonight, but only after my spin class. I deserve it.
