Convo with Daddy while watching an interview with Melinda from American Idol:

Daddy: Do you think she wears a wig?

Me: I don’t know. The people at work call her Shrek.

Daddy: Why?

Me: Because she doesn’t have a neck.

Daddy: Oh, that’s mean. I think she’s pretty.

Me: Daddy, do you think I’m pretty?

*****Silence*****

 Update:

We walked and walked and walked and then walked some more. That is all!

I thought I was going to start my running regimen today, however, this ho is tired. My first flight was at 6:25  this morning, and I got in at 2:35 this afternoon. ‘Nuff said. I promise I’ll start tomorrow. Promise.

Weekend Wrap-Up

April 22, 2007 · No Comments

Back from H-town

Friday:

I woke up at 6am on my day off!! Normally, I would sleep-in until at least noon, but I procrastinated all week and needed to do some laundry and pack. After I put my load in the washer, I ran over to the gym and did 45 minutes on the elliptical came home put my clothes in the dryer and head out to Sachse to pick up some stuff at my parents house to deliver to my sister in Houston. Got home showered, flat ironed hair, packed, loaded up the car, got in the car, drove to the gas station, pumped gas, paid for gas, got some road snacks (water and sunflower seeds) and was on the road by 10:30, whew!

Once I made it to Houston, I took a nap. When my sister came home from work we went to a small business networking event. She thought it was going to be some sort of cocktail hour, but it wasn’t. It was a speed-networking event, kinda like speed-dating, weird, huh? Needless to say, I didn’t participate; instead I sat at the bar and sipped on a Margarita.

Afterwards, we went to the Libra Lounge. Since the Libra Lounge doesn’t have a sign indicting-that in fact it is the Libra Lounge anywhere, my sister proceeded to give directions like this “Make a right on
Alameda and it’s next to the nail shop.”  Every person standing outside the Libra lounge gave directions this way. Once we went inside, I got a beer and my sister got harassed by some old-ass man who claimed he was only there look for some ass, straight-up! First he claimed he was 45 but was really 65. Naturally, she rejected his advances. He called her a skinny bitch, and went on his merry way. BTW- My sister is used to being called a skinny bitch, by my mother, me, and anyone who knows her well, because she is skinny (size two) and a bitch (she’s an attorney).  We left around midnight and head over to Mai’s. Yummy! No trip to Houston is complete without a trip to Mai’s.

On Saturday, we went to get pedi’s and mani’s. Then we went to the International Festival, where George Clinton and the P-Funk entertained us. I was too tired to go out, so we stayed in and ordered pizza and had some wine.

I made it back around 3 this afternoon and am contemplating between watching the MAVs, watching Charm School, or cleaning. I’m definitely not cleaning my condo, but threw it in for good measure.

*** I know I didn’t remain under 1500 calories this weekend, but I did everything in moderation. The proof? Not once was I piss-ass drunk, thank you very much. Baby steps

Ciao!
